2013 Progress

As we are now halfway through the calendar year, and only 3 months to my birthday month, I'm taking a look at my progress.

Since December 2012, I've lost 12-15 pounds and 1 dress size....it's all about progress not perfection. :)

The changes I've made are sustainable and I'm comfortable (even though sometimes impatient) with my progress.

I've adopted a no cheese, no salt, no sweets during the week routine.  I also started strength training twice a week.  To help with the no salt, I create my own seasoning to use when I cook (which is every day).  I started with GOOP.  I learned this from a church member in North Carolina.  GOOP stands for garlic, oregano, onion and pepper.  Then I added some crushed bay leaves, mustard powder, thyme and cayenne pepper.  I also make sure I eat at least 2-3 bushels of kale each week along with lots of asparagus and protein. This being said, it's not always perfect, but it is my aim and I feel better.  Now let's just hope the doctor sees improvement when I go for my appointment this morning! :)

Now I remember....

After spending the weekend in Houston for a wedding, I remember why I left...it's hot and humid as heck.   I also remember some other things but I'll leave THAT for another post. Lol

Anyhoo, Here's a pic of me in my red dress I wore to the wedding Friday night and the blouse I wore to hang out Saturday.
