Yay Progress!

Me at the finish line with my medal :)
So I got my Official results today and I improved my 5K race time by 7 minutes!   I completed my first 5K in March in 59 min 59 seconds...I finished yesterday's 5K race in 52 minutes 59 seconds. That's a 17 minute mile.  My goal is to get down to a 14-15 min mile but right now I thank God for progress and improvement by 7 minutes.   :)

San Francisco Progressive Marathon...DONE!!!

Me After My Race
Let me just testify for a moment? I just started racing this year with the immediate goal of just moving more, learning to run and longer term goal to complete the Divas half marathon. With today's SF Progressive, I completed my 3rd race this year, I ran more and I improved my time by 6 minutes (at least 6 minutes, I forgot to stop my watch so it could be a little more). I'm looking forward to running even more, shaving another 5 minutes off and also going for the next distance - the 10K. Working my way up to the half in the spring. My Race My Pace!

When I saw everyone racing today, esp my elders and those in wheelchairs today, I just have to thank God for being here and being able.

I also want to say how I appreciate the encouragement and support that I've received by my BGR sisters. We are truly no woman left behind. BGR Rocks!

Ok, time for my nap.  Then I'll get up and write my two papers. :)

July Already?

It seems like this year is just flying by...only 2 more months till my bday month. :)

Knocked out 3 miles this morning...Ramping up for my next race in a few weeks.  The progressive 5k of the San Francisco Marathon where I run 23 days up until the day of the race and do a 5K the day of the race..I get credit for a full marathon. :)

Next up after this, I need to knock out a 10k.  The longest distance I've done so far is only about 5.2 miles so I've got to up it.  No more 1 mile morning walks.  No less than 2-3 miles during the week and 4-5 on the weekends now.  I have to get it in!

Also up, I just HAVE to finish and submit this paper this week!

K, I'm off to work, no pics for today :)

Oh and BGR posted a new song that I've added to my morning playlist...This Head I Hold by Electric Guest.  I've never heard of them, but it has a great tempo so I'm adding it to the rotation. :)
