So a while ago, I decided to invest my birthday vacation into my studies. I wanted to meet with some of the major researchers in the field of my dissertation topic. Today one of them contacted me and confirmed my appointment. Yay! I am so very excited to meet this man. So much to do before then. I have to re-read his major works and listen to and read his interviews. I also need to work on framing my own dissertation question so that I can have a productive conversation with him. Did I mention I'm excited??? :)
So that was a major piece of my birthday vacation week that I needed to firm up so that everything else will fall in place...
Meanwhile I'm traveling to the national BGR conference and race in a few days and am I packed? Am I ready for the 6 miles I registered to run? Um, no. So instead of stressing about it, I have decided to see how I feel when I get there and go for the 5k if I feel uncomfortable with the 10k. My last race was a month ago and I know I am doing much better than those on the sofa...but still....I need to get it together.
Oh and at the time of this blog, I am reading chapter 6 of Americanah...this is a GOOD book!
