31 Days...Get It Done!

July was a month of just maintaining.  

August is get it done month.  I'm doing a 31 day blog challenge with my BFF where I'll blog 31 days on either this one or my other cultural blog.  She told me she was doing it for her blog and I decided to join her.  I am hoping it will knock me out of my writer's block for school as well.

Last night my trainer told me I should be planking everyday.  And I need to get ready for the Black Girls Run! 10K at the Sweat Your Sole conference next month.  Soooo, I gotta get my running mojo back.  I haven't done a race since the Rave Run in May.  This weekend I'm signed up to do a 10K, but I am not ready.  I do my strength training sessions twice a week for the last 2 months, but I have not hit the pavement since June.  So this month, I'm forcing myself to get back on the pavement starting with Saturday's race.  I'm also getting back to doing my daily 1 mile, walk away the pounds workout.  It is only 15 minutes and I don't have to leave the house.  And I'll plank everyday as well.  I started this morning with my walk away the pounds workout and then followed up with two 30-second planks.

As for hitting the pavement, I may just do the 5K this weekend (so I don't overdo it) to start off and then add a mile each week until my race in September.  

Speaking of which....it's almost my birthday month!  Yay!
